Our LightSheerâ„¢ diode laser system is the recognized gold standard in laser hair removal. This exciting technology offers a long-lasting solution to unwanted hair on the face, back, legs, bikini line or any other body area. The LightSheerâ„¢ is non-invasive, gentle on sensitive areas like the lip and underarms and effectively treats unwanted hair on all skin types, including ethnic and dark complexions.
The LightSheer™ diode laser allows us to cool the surface of the skin while pulses of light are selectively absorbed by the pigment in the hair follicles. The absorbed light heats the hair structure, which damages the existing hair and destroys the re-growth potential of the follicle – all without damaging the surrounding normal tissue. Most people achieve permanent hair reduction and clinical studies show that if some hairs do return, they are typically lighter and less dense than prior to laser treatment. Tolerated very well, you can generally return to work and resume all regular activities immediately.

How does the LightSheer Diode Laser System work?
The system emits near-infrared laser light that is absorbed by the pigment located in the hair follicle. The laser is pulsed, or turned on, for only a fraction of a second, just long enough to damage the follicle, while the systems unique, patented contact-cooling handpiece, the ChillTip, helps protect the skin during the laser energy delivery. Does the LightSheer work on tanned or different skin colors?
The LightSheer diode laser safely and effectively treats most skin colours. Using the appropriate treatment parameters, people with all skin types, and hair textures can benefit from laser hair removal with the LightSheer. Skin with colour requires 2 – 3 times more treatments to attain safe and effective results, and we always test patch for safety.
Are the Results Permanent?
The key to successful hair removal is destroying the entire hair follicle and the germinative cells. The LightSheer laser has been cleared by the FDA for hair removal and permanent hair reduction on all skin types and tanned skin. To achieve a satisfactory level of clearance, 3-5 treatments are typically required with appointments scheduled every 4-6 weeks. Skin with colour will require more treatments to attain safe and effective results. Shaving between your reservations, is perfectly fine, although we do not recommend waxing, tweezing or the use of depilatories.
Does it hurt?

The sensation of the Light Sheer diode laser is often described as an elastic band snapping against the skin. For that reason, we will apply ice to the treated areas. This makes your treatment virtually painless.
